Snorkeling Cayo Levantado, Bacardi Island, Dominican Republic

By Florence – (Montréal, Canada)
We went snorkeling in Cayo Levantado on Bacardi Island, Dominican Republic last week (October 2015) and it was a very nice place. There is a public beach there.

We paid $90 US to go on a private excursion and it was a waste of money. A few days later, we decided to go to that very nice public beach, which was two minutes from our hotel room.

Surprise! A big reef to snorkel! Shallow and clear and safe. I stayed three hours in the water! I saw different kinds of fishes and was able to take good pictures.

This is a nice resort to relax and snorkel from the shore. You can also snorkel from the resort beach but it is a bit more crowded.

I’m new to this website and already love it! My first language is French so my English is not perfect.
