I stayed and went snorkeling everyday on the house reef at the Beqa Lagoon Resort, Fiji in July 2017 and loved every minute. My husband is a diver and we went with a dive group.

My husband told me that the house reef had about 80% of what he saw on dives (except the shark dive!). There are hard and soft corals, Picasso Triggerfish, parrotfish and at least another 15 other varieties at quantities neither of us had seen before. There are also snorkel trips offered.

This resort only holds around 50 people in 25 bures (bungalows) and is all-inclusive. Reaching the resort requires a 2 1/2 hour bus trip from Nadi Airport on Viti Levu Island, followed by a 45 minute boat trip to Beqa Island (transfers are included with packages).

You can hike to waterfalls, visit the local village, school and church, watch fire dancers and drink kava. There are no cars, phones or TV.

I’ve dreamed about the place ever since and I’m going again in the summer of 2019!
