1. Nusa Dua is great for beaches.

Split up your time and go to Lembongan Island. It’s not that big and a bit more rustic. There is a ferry that takes you over to Lembongan Island. I would recommend staying at a place in Mushroom Bay. There are boats on the beach that you can hire very reasonably. They took us to three snorkel sites and it was amazing! First was Manta Point. We also rented a scooter and went to the top of the island where we rented a boat to go drift snorkeling. Also amazing! Three or four nights there would be enough.

The top of Bali is also great for snorkeling.

  2. Nusa Dua does not have any snorkeling in the area. Another suggestion is taking a trip up the coast and stopping in Padang Bai for the day and snorkeling in Blue Lagoon which is just over the hill from the main beach, then continue up the coast and stay at Amed for a night or two as there are several snorkeling sites in the area. The trip up the coast is lovely and there are the water temples to visit on the way.
