Has anyone been snorkeling around Pulau Weh, Indonesia? The name of the city on the island is Sabang. The snorkeling and diving is reported to be quite good. We are planning to travel there in April 2018 and would like to hear some reviews before we go. Thanks.

Adam G – Jan 14, 2018 – Short Report
Me and my wife visited Pulau Weh in January 2016. We stayed in Iboih, but only snorkeled two sites there. The better of the two was at the far end of the walking pathway all the hotels are off of, where we entered the water from the last hotel in the area. There was an incredible mix of fish life that could be found swimming all around.
Be advised that the entire island is strictly Islamic; you cannot snorkel at all on Fridays, and wearing a bikini is frowned upon. Just something to know.
I found this site to be a great guide.
James Gao – Mar 5, 2018 – I’ve Snorkeled at Pulau Weh at 12 Sites
We went to Weh during New Year of 2018. We stayed at Iboih Long Beach and Sumurtiga. Iboih is not close to most snorkeling sites, so it’s not as convenient. I would say Weh is the best place I’ve ever snorkeled. The underwater world is well kept as is. Lots of fish and corals. Sea snakes, eels, turtles, sharks could be seen. I would suggest anyone who loves snorkeling to go to Weh. You won’t be disappointed.
