Is there any snorkeling in the Abacos Islands, Bahamas? We have a trip scheduled there for May 2019, and we love and LIVE to snorkel! We’re staying on the main island, with plans to take day trips out to the smaller islands. Any advice is appreciated!

Susan B – Aug 6, 2018 – Best Snorkeling Area
The best snorkeling we found was on the north side of No Name Cay, the small cay to the east of Green Turtle. It’s been several years since we were there and I think it’s been designated a protected area now but it definitely had some of the best corals and fish varieties.

No Name is still a beautiful reef. Lots of sea fans. The other side has a wild (but tame) pig colony so take small snacks – cherry tomatoes are yummy.

There is a snorkel boat operated out of Green Turtle Cay Resort by Brendyl, the owner of the boat. He goes out of his way to make sure you have a fabulous day of snorkeling.
Haven’t been there in several years though. I hope he is still in business. And I hope the snorkeling in the Abacos is as beautiful as it was.
Atl Beardie – Sep 17, 2018 – Three Places to Snorkel in Abacos
The Abacos are comprised of a large number of islands, but I have snorkeled many spots on Green Turtle Cay and taken trips with Brendal’s Dive Center to No Name Cay. I have also snorkeled a spot off Great Abaco that I believe was called Mermaids Cove, or something similar.
