My wife and I took a Fiji trip in 2023 with the Oceanic Society to Fiji. One of the places that we snorkeled from was the Beqa Reef Resort. According to the notes I made at the time, they were mostly excellent.

At a couple of the other resorts, we were, as snorkelers, definitely second class citizens, but not so at Beqa. Our dinghy and the guides were snorkel oriented and we got plenty of water time.

If you need, as I do, a good strong cup of coffee to start the day, you won't get it at Beqa. I'd go again.

Bula! I was at Beqa Lagoon Resort in September and October 2024 on a trip through Oceanic Society. It was fantastic! We had a group of 10 snorkelers and the resort took us out daily for multiple snorkeling stops. Some trips were all day with lunch at a beach or on the boat.

I've snorkeled in Indonesia (Komodo and Wakatobi) and nothing compares to the diversity of fish and coral found there.

But, I found Beqa Lagoon to be pretty impressive! Especially Ridge Rock - it's stunning and so full of life. We went there twice during our stay by popular demand. The resort house reef has some beautiful spots too. Most days, after snorkeling spots around the expansive lagoon, the boat captain would drop us off on the outer house reef and we'd snorkel our way to shore. So I got good at learning the reefs and moving to parts with better visibility.

Visibility around the lagoon for our boat snorkeling was exceptional. Water temperature during our trip was around 78°F - common during that time of year.

We went to a site called Secret Island (it's a secluded sandbar) for a pre-lunch snorkel and it's the most beautiful place I've ever seen.

We found the people to be genuine, happy and kind. Enjoy your stay!
