Turtles and Falling in Love - Snorkeling the Big Island Hawaii

by Lisa
(Oregon, USA)

My family lived on the Big Island for one year and we miss it so much. We found the people incredibly friendly and the snorkeling was breathtaking.

I snorkeled in a number of places and shared those places with visiting friends & family. I know they enjoyed it but I don't know if they fell in love with it as much as I did. I felt totally relaxed and at peace. I will never, ever forget the first time I swam with a turtle (respectively, of course). They are amazing creatures!

The fish you see, the dolphins you watch, and the experiences you have are amazing!

After the death of my mother, I went snorkeling for the peace and the connection with nature and it was very healing. I have only been to the Big Island and look forward to snorkeling some of the places I've already been, discovering some new places, and going to the other islands for new discoveries and experiences.

When I miss my Big Island and turtles, with the serenity of snorkeling, I close my eyes and pretend I'm in the water, watching all that beautiful life below that is missed unless you go snorkeling.

Thanks for sharing and hopefully I will get back there one day. I have a grandson who lived with us and he still talks about it and misses it.

Thanks for sharing your love of this beautiful place and the beautiful people of the Big Island!
