Snorkeling Sombrero Reef
Extra Pictures & Video Page

Nicole and I had a great time taking pictures when snorkeling Sombrero Reef. If you have not seen the first page of pictures with more details about our experience you can find it here.

OK. Let's check out some more pictures. I have never posted pictures as big as these from Sombrero Reef, because I don't want the pages to load slowly. But in this case I have decided to show some of them bigger because they are just fun to see.

Below you can see another picture of the beautiful Scrawled Cowfish. Moooo!

One of the crew from our boat was a pretty good freediver. Below you can see him emerging from an underwater cave/arch that he swam through.

We had a good time hanging out around the boat after spending a couple of hours snorkeling the area. The fish were swarming and looking for treats. Nicole took a fun video from under the catamaran and swam right into them (I am in there also taking pictures).

Sponges

On the right you can see a couple of different sponges that we found when diving down below the boat.

And below you can see another picture of the Spotted Scorpionfish doing a great job a hiding.

Below is a Hogfish with it's spines up, and doing a wonderful job of matching it's color to the background. I was somewhat surprised when traveling in the Keys to find Hogfish not only on the menu at many restaurants, but considered one of the best eating fish. And it was!

Below you can see the great picture Nicole got of the Flamingo Tongue snail.
