Snorkeling PK's was AWESOME - Kauai

by Matt Castles
(Woodland, CA)

We just recently returned from Kauai and decided to give PK's a try while there. We first snorkeled PK's back in 2002 and had an absolutely amazing experience. Turtles and more turtles. This year was no different. We snorkeled with a family of 10 turtles for over 30 minutes. Well worth the tough entry and exit. We had to battle a pretty tough current going back in but having snorkeled this spot in the past, we knew what to expect. Definitely not a spot for beginners but if you are a good swimmer definitely worth the challenge!

Love the site
by: Matt

Galen and Nicole,

Thanks for sharing your snorkeling experiences. We love your site. We are lucky enough to be able to go to Kauai every summer and absolutely love snorkeling the beaches around Poipu and nothing beats PK's. Turtles were everywhere when we were there last week. We even saw them daily at Poipu beach. And, the topper was seeing a monk seal on numerous occasions. An amazing week. We still haven't tried Koloa Landing so I think that will be on our list next year.
