Snorkeling in Panama (not Florida)

Would love to hear from anyone who has any experience snorkeling in the country of Panama. What are the best sites? How accessible are they?

Bocas del Toro Panama
by: Anonymous

I spent two weeks in Bocas. We rented a house and loved the area. It was stormy for quite a few days, which the surfers really liked because it kicked up big waves. We tried snorkeling once, but it required a boat/guide rental, and the water was still too rough to snorkel the best area. So we went to some mangroves and the snorkeling was not good. I think if we had been more adventurous, or less tired, and if the weather had been better, we could have found some good spots. But it is not the easy snorkel find like Fiji and Roatan. And good Spanish is really necessary for Panama.
