Snorkeling Honolua Bay - Maui

by Maureen
(Edmonton, Alberta - Canada)

Honolua Bay

Honolua Bay

We tried to snorkel at Honolua Bay earlier this month (November 2009), and were turned away by someone who said that he was caretaker of the property and we were not allowed entrance. I guess we were suckers, along with about 20 other people who had to turn around and get back in their cars. Were we hoodwinked? Unfortunately because of the large surf on Maui from Nov. 9 - 16/09 we really didn't have many other options for calm snorkeling.

On a good note - I took some awesome pics of the bay the day before. This was when we decided we would come back and snorkel in this spot the next day.
