Snorkeling at Poipu in March - Kauai

I appreciated your practical advice re summer being the best time to snorkel in Kauai.

We had our first and great time snorkeling around Kaanapali, Maui the first two weeks of March this year. How would the snorkeling be at that time of year around Poipu? (I read your advice that the Northern shore would probably not be very good.)

Hi Douglas.

I think your chances of snorkeling in the Poipu area in March are pretty good. Being on the south end of Kauai, it tends to be more protected from the common wind and wave direction that time of year. It will depend on the actual weather when you are there though. By the end of this year we will have an eBook guide published for Kauai with more recent and updated location information, so keep an eye out for that.
