Snorkeling A Bay - Big Island Hawaii

by Rej
(California)

My wife and I just spent a week at A Bay with family and I went out several times to snorkel. We had a few days were it was windy and the water wasn't that clear, but mornings were great and we saw some nice stuff. Lots of coral and urchins and a good number of fish. I startled a small octopus who was sitting on a head of coral and he shot out right in front of me and went to the bottom but didn't try to hide - he just sat there eyeballing me until I drifted off. One of the guys with me saw a few moray eels as well.
