My Sony DSC T-100 Snorkeling Camera & Custom Utility Belt

by Site Visitor

Sony also makes an underwater housing for this camera (Sony DSC T-100) that has a depth rating of 132 feet. Also, the camera has a "super macro" setting allowing you to get as close as half an inch away from the subject.

I have made a utility belt onto which I can hook my camera to allow for hands free swimming to cover larger distances. I have also added a 5 pound divers weight to the utility belt which gives me better stabilization when I'm holding my breath trying for a tricky shot in the surge.

Great Ideas!
by: Galen

Your idea of a utility belt is great, for both of the reasons that you use it. I can't tell you how many times I have had to start swimming with my arms (because of currents), and end up using my camera like a paddle in my hand because I had nowhere else to put it. That can't be good for the camera.

I have also considered using some free diving weights to make taking pictures easier. You beat me to it! How did you decide how much weight to use?

Send me your best underwater picture that you have taken with that nice camera setup of yours and I will put it on this page (see my contact page).
