Maui Snorkeling Guide
Polo Beach

There are just too many Maui snorkeling spots for us to have gone to all of them yet. And here is one that we thought you should know about, and what we have heard about it, but we have not yet snorkeled it. Maybe you can tell us what it is like, and share an underwater picture?

We have read that this beach offers some excellent snorkeling, on the right hand side. Supposedly there are lots of fish and a good amount of coral.

We took this picture of the beach as we were flying in from the Big Island. It does look like a beautiful beach, and from air we noticed there is a big rocky point between Polo and Wailea that looks interesting during calm water times.

Oh well, next time we will check it out.

Polo Beach is in front of the Kea Lani resort, and there are restrooms, showers, picnic tables and BBQ grills available here.

Driving Directions to Polo Beach from Kihei

Head south on S Kihei Rd. Towards the end of the road, there is an intersection where you can veer left onto Okolani Dr, do this and go to the intersection with Wailea Alanui Dr and turn right. Follow this through the big intersection with Wailea Iki Dr near The Shops at Wailea. Keep driving until you come to the intersection with Kaukahi St and turn right. Follow this until it ends and turn right into the parking lot for the beach access.
