Maui Snorkeling Guide Oneloa Beach
Oneloa is an interesting Maui snorkeling spot, but only on calm days. As you can see in the pictures that we took on this day, it is not the slightest bit calm. Needless to say, we did not get in on this day, and you should only go in when it is calm here, probably more towards summer.

This is a big long beach. The entrance to it is down a small hill on the right hand side of the beach. On wavy days, the waves are big here, making it popular with surfers.
All but the most left-hand side of this beach has a rocky entrance with a drop off, making it no fun for getting in and out of the water. But on the left-hand side there is a sandy entrance, and the best snorkeling is around the rocky point and within the little bay around the corner. Again, this is exposed ocean and we only do it when it is very calm and we are always very cautious of currents.
You can see on the day we took these pictures that we did not get in the water. It was very rough.

There are some interesting rocky underwater formations here, lots of fish and we have also seen many turtles.
The only facilities at Oneloa is a shower near the parking lot.
