Maui Snorkeling Guide
Kama'ole Beach II & III

This is one of the best Maui snorkeling spots on the island. Once again this Maui snorkeling spot is between Kama'ole II & III. And once again, this is a beautiful beach, wide, soft sand, with a nice park and facilities.

Kamaole

We liked this location better in some ways than Molokini. The underwater topography was a little more interesting, and there were more fish. The water clarity does not compare to Molokini though.

Maui Snorkeling

This was one of the highlights of our last Maui snorkeling trip. We snorkeled completely around the rocky point between Kama'ole II & III, and it was stellar. This is an exposed beach, so when the waves are up, which they were, there is a good bit of surge. So we had to be careful of how close we got to the rocks.

But boy was it fantastic. There were tons of turtles, tons of fish, and an amazing variety of corals. We really like interesting underwater topography, and this rocky point has that. There are numerous fingers of rocks encrusted in coral that extend out into deeper and deeper water.

So this is one not to be missed when it is calm.

We also snorkeled the south end of Kama'ole III. There was an interesting finger of coral and it is was pretty good also!

Driving Directions to Kama'ole Beach III from Kihei

This beach is in Kiehi on S Kihei Rd. Kama'ole Beach III is the most south of the three Kama'oles. South of Kama'ole II and south of Keonekai St on the right, there is a large turn-in parking lot on the right. There is a better located parking lot just north of Keonekai St on the left and you can walk straight down to the area of good snorkeling.
