Maui Snorkeling Guide Charley Young Beach (Kama'ole Beach I)
This is the first Maui snorkeling beach in the Kihei area that you will want to snorkel at. If you read our introduction page to snorkeling Maui you will see our comments about not swimming in the waters north of here in Kihei.
Charley Young Beach is really just the north end of Kama'ole Beach I.
This beach, along with all the Kama'ole beaches that follow are beautiful, wide, with lots of facilities and great snorkeling.

Site Snorkeling Details - Charley Young Beach (Kama'ole Beach I) Maui Snorkeling
The snorkeling at Charley Young Beach is at the far north end around the rocky point. This is not protected water so we only go in here when it is pretty calm because we are often tossed around a bit by surge and waves above the rocks if the wind is up a little.

The snorkeling here is maybe not as good, and little more cloudy than the points further south at the other Kama'ole beaches. But we did see many fish and some turtles, as well as nice coral on the rocks.
