Kauai Snorkeling Guide Lawa'i Beach
This popular Kauai snorkeling spot is also called Beach House, after the restaurant that sits on the left side of the beach overlooking the ocean.
And even though this spot can be crowded it has lots of fish to see, and not much else...well it does offer some restrooms, water, showers, shade and a shaved ice stand!

This spot is a favorite of snorkeling tour groups brought in by van from cruise ships. It is also a popular snuba destination.

Here is a video giving a sense of all the snorkelers on a slightly windy and wavy day.

Site Snorkeling Details - Lawa'i Beach Kauai Snorkeling
There is a beach here at low tide, and almost no beach at high tide. But the entrance to the water is easy, and there are tons of fish here. It looks like they get fed a lot here, because all you have to do is pretend to feed them and they come swarming around.

Like most places, the visibility gets better the farther out you swim, and the coral that was dead or non-existent closer starts to appear as you swim out towards the protective reef.

Another area that is a little more interesting is around the rocks in front of the restaurant. The current seems to rush through this spot for some reason. So watch where you are.
