Kauai Snorkeling Guide Larsen's Beach
This is a great Kauai snorkeling location.
You access this beach down a gradual dirt path, that is an easy walk.
And you get a great view of the snorkeling grounds from the hillside above.

Make sure and do take a good look from above because like many other snorkel spots on Kauai there are a couple of breaks in the reef that have channels of outflowing current. You want to note where these are and stay away from them, particularly if there are waves breaking over the reef and adding a lot of water inside (it has to leave somewhere).

Frigatebirds are a common sight here, and it is a joy to watch these huge birds effortlessly soar on the updrafts above the cliffs. We also noticed a couple of nudy birds (nudists) taking advantage of this secluded beach (but we did not get a picture), so know that this is a possibility here.
Site Snorkeling Details - Larsen's Beach Kauai Snorkeling This is a great snorkeling spot when it is calm, and probably best in the summer. Looking from above you can see two channels that you want to be aware of for potential currents that might pull you outside the reef if you are not paying attention. There is one near the right side and one far down the beach on the left. You can see one of these channels in the picture below.

The snorkeling when calm is excellent, and there are tons of areas to explore, in a variety of depths. You can see from the pictures that the snorkeling grounds are really pretty huge.
