Kauai Snorkeling Guide
Kepuhi Beach

We loved this Kauai snorkeling spot, with it's beautiful sandy beach, lots of coral rubble and fantastic shallow snorkeling.

But this is another area that may be better for more advanced snorkelers depending on the currents.

Site Snorkeling Details - Kepuhi Beach
Kauai Snorkeling

This is a very shallow but wonderful snorkeling spot. There is tons of coral and many types of fish. The currents here are so strong at times that it is almost funny. Right off the beach all along this shore there is a sandy area where the currents tend to flow from right to left. And it was so flowing so hard last time we had a hard time standing up in it. But once you get over the coral, it is not as strong and seems to move from left to right, but is still a force to pay attention to.

What we like to do is start on the far left hand side, quickly swim into the coral to get out of the fastest currents, and then let current carry us down over the coral viewing area to the right. Then get out, walk back up the beach and do it again.

As we said above, depending on the currents, this is for strong swimmers with good snorkeling skills. But it is worth it. It is one of the better spots on this side of the island.
