Bonaire Hotels

You have lots of Bonaire hotels options, from a hotel, to a condo, to an apartment.

Keep in mind when looking for Bonaire hotels that you will almost always be visiting in week long increments because of the flying schedule to Bonaire. For that reason we really like having a kitchen, because let's face it, the restaurants on Bonaire are excellent, but generally pretty expensive. And we just don't like to eat out every meal on a trip. So we like to stay in an apartment or condo on Bonaire, because they tend to have a kitchen.

Bonaire Hotels

The majority of Bonaire hotels are in the town of Kralendijk (it's where most folks stay), and the majority of those are diving resorts. Because they are focused on diving they often include a package deal for diving boat trips, air tanks, and food. Obviously that does not help us snorkelers out much. When searching I could find no resorts that had a "snorkelers package".

Bonaire Condo The price range for Bonaire hotels is pretty huge. You can find some very reasonable priced apartments for as little as $75 a night, although it will lack some comforts. But you can also spend as much as you want. There are some pretty swanky places to stay right on the water in Bonaire. We stayed about two blocks off the waterfront and it was fine. After all, we were out on the water every day. But we did enjoy to walk down to the water at sunset.

One thing that is interesting is that accommodations in Bonaire are often priced per person, not per room. So watch for that.

So how do you find a good accommodation? There really are no good written guide books for Bonaire. So you have to do some web searching. We found our apartment by searching through the reviews at Tripadvisor. We ended up booking directly with our apartment. But we also will search for hotels on Expedia.com to possibly find some bargains (just make sure to check the reviews at TripAdvisor for whatever you find around the net).
