She is kind of hard to see because her coloring so perfectly matches the underwater topography, but that is a beautiful female Redlip Parrotfish, or the Hawaiian name is Palukaluka. This one took a big bite of coral that made a very clear snapping sound underwater.

This picture shows some of the more interesting topography and coral that can be found on the left hand side of the bay when snorkeling Mahukona. Nicole and I like to find rocky channels and depths that vary, instead of the more boring flat bottom in the center of the bay. It is so much more interesting.
Here is a pretty bad picture of a Forceps Butterflyfish (I am still learning how to get good underwater pictures). They use their long snouts to get deep into cracks in rocks and coral to feed.
I also got a picture of a Yellowtail Coris here that was so terrible I could not show it!!!
Below you can barely make out three or four Yellowstripe Goatfish. Goatfish have two barbels under their mouths that they use to sift through sand to find prey.
