Big Island Snorkeling Guide
Captain Cook Monument
Extra Picture & Video Page

We took so many pictures and videos on our Big Island Snorkeling Tour of Captain Cook Monument. If you missed the first page with snorkel descriptions and driving directions click here.

The color of the water here is such a wonderful pure blue, and we are always stunned when we stick our faces in and see how far we can, and how much there is to see.

Here we encountered a bunch of Black and Pinktail Triggerfish, with some Tangs in the background. These fish are pretty neat swimmers. They use their dorsal fins and can swim forward and backwards!

A nice view of some of the different corals here at Captain Cook Monument.

In the video below we were very close to shore and you can see a huge school of fish above the rocks.

Wow, we were lucky to get this picture of three elusive Bubbling Neoprenes.

Actually it is pretty fun to watch the divers air bubbles rise to the surface. The top of the bubbles are like liquid silver.

What a pleasure it was to have three of these Bluefin Trevally cruise by pretty close. They were huge (compared to the Yellow Tangs in the background).

This short little video really gives you a sense of how clear the water is here.

This is a big coral eating Crown of Thorns Sea Star, wrapped around some coral.
