Are the Exumas in the Bahamas a Good Snorkeling Destination?

by David

Are the Exumas in the Bahamas a good snorkeling destination? Has anyone been snorkeling there in the last year or so? I've heard there is a nature preserve that allows no fishing etc.

Since St.John has been pretty beat up from the hurricanes we are looking for a new destination in the Caribbean.

Thank you.

The reefs in the Exumas Land and Sea Park are very nice. You will need a private boat to get there and must be very mindful of the currents, since many of the best reefs are in the cuts. Other reefs in the Exumas have been damaged by overfishing, but there are still some good spots outside the park.
